Clean, Protect & Sanitize 

3M Scotchgard or Dupont Teflon
Protectors help provide easy care and a long lasting clean fresh appearance. You can count on it to keep your carpet, upholstery and draperies clean up to 3 times longer than untreated. By preventing soils/spills from penetrating the fibers; dry soil is easily vacuumed away, and spills are removed easily with prompt clean up. It provides long lasting protection by decreasing wear and fiber breakdown.

Re-application of Scotchgard/Teflon is recommended with all cleanings, by the manufactors. “To return the fiber to the same quality of performance as when it left the mill.” 

Microban
Microban hospital-grade disinfectant is an effective bacteriacide, fungicide, and insecticide all in one unique formulation. Microban kills mold, fungi, bacteria (removing their odors); insects and their larvae. (dust mites, fleas, bed bugs, …) 

The reason that we want to sanitize a surface or environment is five fold. First, to reduce the growth and effect of allergens causing particles and organisms. Second, to prevent damage of products by micro-organisms. Third, to reduce or remove odors. Fourth, to prevent the transmission of disease. Fifth, Improve appearance. 

Microban should be used each cleaning; when the fibers have been exposed to vomit, urine, feces, blood, mold, and when children and pets are present.

Otherwise Microban should be used every other cleaning.
